Rail traffic restored on Saharsa-Darbhanga rail section after 88 years
New Delhi, May 7 (UNI) Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Saturday reported a passenger train between Jhanjharpur (Madhubani district) and Nirmali (Supaul) via video link here. Rail traffic on the Saharsa-Darbhanga rail section via Supaul-Nirmali has been restored after 88 years. The section was disrupted due to an earthquake in 1934. “Restoration of rail services on this section meets the long-standing demand of people who live on both sides of the Kosi River,” said the Minister of the Union after the inauguration of the section. The Minister also reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to the development of Eastern States and said, “The allocation of funds for Bihar which was ₹1132 crore from 2009 to 2014 has been increased at 6600 crore.He has ensured all possible assistance to Bihar in development.He has also inaugurated broad gauge railway services from Jhanjharpur railway station in Madhubani district to Nirmali railway station in Supaul district and a new railway line from Nirmali to Asanpur Kupaha at a cost of ₹1584 crore via video conference. also appealed to local MPs and MPs to take personal interest in railway projects in their respective regions. “I ask you all, especially to Members of Parliament, Deputies and Honorable Ministers, to take a personal interest in every project of the railways. . You will take a step for the work that needs to be done on behalf of the railways, we are ready to take ten steps with you,” he said. Bihar Ministers Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Sheela Mandal, MPs for Madhepura, Jhanjharpur and Supaul, MP Nitish Mishra, as well as key railway authorities from Samastipur Railway Division of East Central Rail Zone of Railways Indians, were present at the event.
